CASA of Travis County exists to promote and protect the best interest of children who have been abused or neglected, by training volunteers to advocate for them in courts, in schools and in our community to help them find safe, permanent and loving homes. CASA is the only nonprofit organization with volunteers sworn-in by a judge to make recommendations to the court in the best interest of children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse or neglect. A CASA volunteer is a court-appointed, trained and committed adult who stands by these children’s side, watches over their case and advocates for their best interest. They ensure that these children remain a priority in an overburdened legal and social service system and are often the only guiding presence involved from beginning to end during a child’s case.
